Obama For The Win
This should come as no surprise, but as others have made their Super Tuesday endorsements official (here, here), then so will I.
I’ve told a few people about a particular revelation of mine, but it bears repeating. A couple of weeks ago, I gave a moment’s thought to how best to use my ballot on Tuesday. Since we have the choice in Georgia to do so, should I ask for a Republican ballot? I could vote for McCain, thus taking a vote away from Huckabee.
But that moment passed.
Instead, I have decided to cast one of the most optimistic, most inspired votes of my lifetime.
While I was happy enough to vote President Clinton into office in 1992 and re-elect him in 1996, I can’t say that I entered the ballot box either time with heart in hand. 2000 and 2004 were crushing disappointments, but in both years, I knew I was casting a vote against rather than a vote for.
2008 is different. Though Tuesday is merely a primary, and we are months away from the national election, there is no way I’m missing the opportunity to vote even once for Barack Obama.
And hope willing, I’ll be voting for him again in November.
